Any breed, any mix, any set of markings. Golden Retrievers, Labradors, French Bulldogs, German Shepherds, Dachshunds, Corgis, Shiba Inus, Beagles and Poodles are all welcome — and so are the mixed breeds and rescues whose paperwork just says "some kind of terrier." Our artisans work from your photos rather than a breed template, so a wiry coat, one folded ear, or an off-center blaze can make it onto the finished piece.

Most people describe their cat by its coat rather than its breed, and that's how we paint them: tuxedos with the white bib where it belongs, orange tabbies with the M on the forehead, calicos with patches that never repeat, and black cats, the ones that photograph like a shadow and still need a readable face, eye color, and a little shine on the nose. If yours is a longhair like a Maine Coon or a Ragdoll, we match the coat length too.

One thing to know going in: this is a chibi. Big head, small body, cute on purpose. We're aiming for cute and unmistakably your pet, not a shrunken photograph of them.

Mostly dogs and cats, but not only. Rabbits, birds, hamsters and the occasional lizard are welcome too — pick Other for the species when you start your order and tell us what they are in the notes. A real person reviews your photos, and you see a color 3D preview before anything is printed — cancel for a full refund any time before you approve your preview. We only make pets, never people.

A keychain gets handled more than almost anything else you own, so this one is built for it. The black ring and clasp are solid metal, on an ivory braided wrist loop with a pink leather tab, and the body is printed in the same durable resin as our figurines, then hand-sanded and hand-painted before it ships. A few places it can live:

• On your keys — small enough to disappear in a pocket, solid enough that you feel it when you pick them up.
• On a bag or purse strap — something small to smile at on the way to work.
• On a backpack — kids get their own, so the family dog rides along to school.
• On a suitcase handle — your bag is suddenly the easy one to spot at baggage claim.
• Clipped in the car — a small hello on every drive.

It isn't a generic animal charm off a rack; it's your dog or your cat, markings and all. One request, though: keep it on your side of the leash. It's a keepsake for you, not a chew toy for them.

Both are the same hand-painted keychain. The only difference is how much of it you want.

• 2.4 in, $98. Classic keychain scale, about the length of a house key. Best on a keyring, a purse strap, or a zipper pull, where slim matters.
• 3.1 in, $158. Just under the long side of a credit card, so you can tell who it is from across the room. Better on a tote, a suitcase, or a hook by the door, and it's the better pick when the keychain will spend as much time on a desk as in a pocket.

Either size takes about 2 weeks to make, or about 1 week if you add Rush Creation (+$19.99) in the customizer. Shipping is tracked, takes roughly 15 days, and costs a flat $19.99 to every destination we ship to.
